Listen up all you seekers of knowledge. Have you ever thought what causes a genocide? Well if you did than this book is for you as it clearly explains this. Of course, we all know that hate is a main cause for genocide but the question that constantly arises is "Where does all the hate come from?" You see, obviously I'm not going to tell you because if I did than what's the point of reading the book? If you want to know, I suggest that you go out and get the Psychology of Genocide book and learn for yourself. I personally came across this book when trying to learn more about genocides as a whole and found this book. When I first took it I thought that I was crazy for taking a psychology book, because of the assumption that all psychology books are crazy boring. At the end I opted to take the book and I do not regret taking it the least bit.
This book cannot be compared with any other books of this type as I honestly believe that this is one of the only psychology books which will not cause you to fall asleep in the midst of reading it. This book talks about our animal instincts and how we are similar to animals in the way we torture people. I don't know about you but I personally find this extremely interesting as a student of knowledge. Who would not be interested in a book which make a direct comparison with elephants digging their tusks in other elephants calves to the stabbing of humans or when animals killing offspring is similar to the killing to pregnant women. If you find this interesting this book is a must read. This book also brings up very important points which many people would find interesting and would like to further understand, such as the example that educated people are more likely to conduct genocides than uneducated. When reading this I found this very interesting, and if you do to maybe you should go find this book and learn about it more.
As a whole, this book really teaches us how we all have the evil in us to potentially do something horrific just as many have done in our past. This is a must read book as it shows us how we all have to diminish the hate which we have and shows us in detail the inner workings of somebody's head during a genocide. I would recommend this book to those who seek knowledge as it can teaches us where hate comes from and why people begin a genocide and seeking this knowledge does not have to be boring as this book explains all the information while bringing up very interesting points and explains it in an interesting manner.
